Snapping a picture does not need to be the end of the photography process.  In fact, it can be just the first step in the creative process.  Many of the photos that are setting in your album have the potential to be much more than they currently are with the help of photo touch up or photo retouch as it is also known.  It is up to you to see the potential in the images, and to figure out how to transform them into something more beautiful by retouching your photo.

In this case, the original photo of the woman was fine, but the image in the final portrait is much more stunning.  It was transformed from a photograph in an album to a photo that could be framed and displayed or added to a portfolio all this can be done quite quickly by applying photo touch up or photo retouching skills.

Too often people fall into the mindset that photos are what they are, and that there is no changing them.  In reality digital image enhancement and photo retouch makes any changes possible, regardless of the condition of the original photo.  It is possible to take old photographs that are creased, torn or discolored, and to do a complete photo restoration.  Anything from a minor photo touch up to a complete digital restoration, your photos can be made to be more than they already are.

Do not look at your photos as the end of the process.  It is really only the beginning by having a skilled person apply photo retouch to your photos.
