Sometimes damaged photos are not the result of mishandling your photograph.  Photos can become faded as a result of exposure to sunlight, or even a damaged area on the film itself.  Regardless of how it got damaged, the important thing now is getting your damaged photo repaired.  Even mildly damaged photos are worth having restored.

Believe it or not, damaged photos like this one that have different levels of damage and fading are more difficult to repair than photos where the entire photo has faded.  You see, when the entire photo has faded the restoration specialist can enhance the contrast and brightness across the entire photo.  However, when the photo is not faded evenly, the areas must be restored individually.

The restoration of damaged photos like this one requires the skills of a qualified specialist to restore the damaged areas in a way that blends in with the undamaged areas.  The specialist will need to go along each of the faded areas and restore the color and texture to match the images on either side of the faded strips.  This will also need to be done on the side and bottom of the photo.  Depending on the level of detail in the photo this can be quite a slow and tedious process.
