Digital Restoration Childrens Photos 2

Sometimes what you want to accomplish with your children’s photos is more artistic and whimsical.  Rather than trying to relive a memory, you are interested in more creative ways to enjoy your photographs.  With digital technology, you can create many creative images.

This photo of two children taken together was about to undergo some big creative changes.  It started with the removal of the background image, including the boy’s bodies, necks and even their hair.  This left only the faces of the two boys remaining.  The images were then converted from colour to black and white for artistic purposes.

Although this type of Digital Restoration is a simple procedure, it is something that needs to be accomplished by hand.  Automated computer programs can either leave too much background behind, or will remove parts of the picture that should remain.  When that happens a technician would then need to do a photo touch up to fix the photo.

The background that was chosen was an image of two beautiful flowers in full bloom.  The images of the boys faces were then placed into the middle of the two flowers; one face in each flower. 

This is an idea of the type of creative images that can be created using photographs that are already in your photo album.  As you look through your photos, be thinking of the different ways you can use them.
