Hi Shayne
I am assuming that you already have some software such as coral, paint shop pro etc.
All I can say is “the more you practice the better, more confident and quicker you will become”. Like you I started out doing photos for friends and family and also as a kind of therapeutic hobby whilst working overseas in some rather hostile locations.
Unfortunately I never carried out much research prior to opening my website, kind of like the film Field of Dreams, I thought “if you build it they will come” regrettably that was not the case, as there is so much competition out there you have to spend hundreds every week in advertising and SEO (search engine optimisation) this is why the cost can be quite high in order to re-coup some of the expenditure.
Anyway in the early stages I often downloaded before and after restoration photos to see if I could repair as good as or better than the examples. If there is anything specific you would like to know then drop me an email (under contact us) and I will do my best to help.
All the best and thanks for the post.

Hi Jim
I think the website you have set up is really good and tells people all they need to know regarding photo restoration and more, it's friendly and give some good information.
Although a little unorthodox I am writing in the hope that you will be able to advise me on the best way to promote my own photo restoration skills - I understand if you feel I am encroaching on your area of work but I really enjoy this kind of work and have done some rather challenging photos myself for family and friends. I now feel confident enough to advertise my services locally but also wondered whether you employ people that can do this kind of work remotely?
Thank you inadvance

Yours Sincerely
(Mrs) Shayne Gillard

Well said doctor. I agree that photo restoration is not possible for all photos.
