Like you I started out doing photos for friends and family and also as a kind of therapeutic hobby whilst working overseas in some rather hostile locations. Unfortunately I never carried out much research prior to opening my website, kind of like the film Field of Dreams, I thought “if you build it they will come” regrettably that was not the case, as there is so much competition out there you have to spend hundreds every week in advertising and SEO (search engine optimisation) this is why the cost can be quite high in order to re-coup some of the expenditure. Anyway in the early stages I often downloaded before and after restoration photos to see if I could repair as good as or better than the examples.
