Sometimes an album cover can contain subtle images that are missed at first glance.  These images are later discovered when the photo on the album cover is examined more closely.  That was the effect that this performer wanted for her album cover.

The effect that was requested was to have an image reflected in the eyes of the artist that was featured on the cover.  Once a suitable picture was found it was a simple procedure to create that effect.

First the portion of the image was isolated, and all of the background was removed from the image.  This left an image of only the face.  The next step of the image enhancement was to convert the photo from colour to black and white.  The contrast and lighting were then adjusted to make the face appear white, but still allow the features to be visible.

The finished image is then shrunk down until it fit in to eye of the face on the album cover.  At first it appears to be a reflection of light in her eyes, but on closer examination you can see the reflection is the image of the second picture.

These kinds of creative applications are possible with digital image enhancement.  They can be used as promotion tools that show off your style and creativity.
