Some photos are needed for profession purposes.  Anytime you need to promote yourself or your group, you can use photos that are already in your photo collection to come up with some creative promotional images.  In the case of this photo it was for a recording artist that needed an album cover.

The photo has a good image of her face, but the photograph as a whole was not suitable for promotional purposes.  This meant it was necessary to isolate the image of her face from the rest of the photograph.

Once the image of the face was isolated it was possible to do other image enhancements ti obtain the desired effect.  First, the image was softened to lessen the effect of sharp edges in the image.  Then there were changes to the lighting effects to further the softer look of the face.

When placed against a dark background, it creates an image of a reflective artist.

This type of project could be done for any artist or group, and can create an image that accurately reflects they style of music they perform,  The final image can be as soft or as stark as the artist desires, and can be done with any digital photographs.
